Local Youth Initiative Fund
2010 detail to come.
Fonds régional d’investissement jeunesse (FRIJ)
The Fonds régional d'investissement jeunesse is worth $2 419 840, which means there is $483, 968 per year to be invested from now until March, 2014 in projects that affect youth ages 12-35 in the Outaouais region. These funds are managed by the administrative council of the Table jeunesse Outaouais, are a part of the Youth Action Strategie 2009-2014 (Strategie d'action jeunesse 2009-2014), put in place by the Quebec governement, and will focus on the challenges in the following areas:
-Education and employment
-Entrepreneurship
-Health
-Regional development
-Diversity
-Environment
Along with facing these challenges, the Table jeunesse Outaouais combined with the FRIJ, would like to see projects established that touch upon:
-School preserverance
-Indentity and a sense of belonging among youth
-Arts, culture, sports and recreation
-World awareness and immigration
-The environment
- Citizen participation
The TJO will favour projects that fall under these categories, but remains open to seeing the realization of other types of projects. They will also prioritize projects that are structured to promote local and regional devlopment.
The projects must have both an environmental aspect and encourage youth to become active participants in their communities.
The FRIJ would also like that the project work hand in hand with the guidelines established by the regional planning strategy 2007-2012 for the Outaouais, elaborated upon by the Conférence régionale des élus de L'Outaouais (CRÉO).
2 types of projects will be financed:
Action jeunesse structurante (AJS)- 75% of the allocated budget
Project jeunesse local (PJL)- 25% of the allocated budget
- Cadre de gestion FRIJ (2009-2014) (FRIJ project guide 2009-2014, only available in French)
L'Action jeunesse structurate (AJS)
L'Action jeunesse structurante (AJS) is a project which comes from the agreement between the TJO and it's partners, all aimed towards issues pertaining youth.
It allows challenges to be approached in a global context, with a structured development.
It will implement the priorities of the Table jeunesse Outaouais which are in accordance with the regional planning strategy 2009-2014, put forth by the Government of Quebec.
Projet jeunesse local (PJL) (Local youth project)
The projet jeunesse local (local youth project) targets a specific question pertaining youth. This project aims to improve the situation of youth in the region, and will be considered a priority if the project is ''for youth, by youth''. The local youth project needs to be financed by multiple sources (not just the FRIJ), and have short temr objectives (less than 24 months).
To apply for funding from the FRIJ 2009-2014 for a local youth project, the organization or the youth applying for the funding must complete to required application form.
To receive this application form, you must either contact your local Youth Table (Table Jeunesse), or a FRIJ project agent at the Table Jeunesse Outaouais. (frij@tjo.ca)
